What’s With All The Drama?
Episode three of the Bachelorette season 19 was cloaked in drama. Everyone has their own “drama tolerance” level, perhaps this week pushed you over the edge.
So the question is, why did this episode have so much drama? Is it the two bachelorettes?
Or is it the men’s behavior?
I have a theory.
In psychology there’s an interesting theory it’s called State/Trait theory.
It basically says that our personality is made up of two parts: a trait and a state. The trait is how we’re naturally inclined to act, and the state is how we act in certain situations.
For example, let’s say you’re a naturally kind person but you’re in a bad mood today—that would be your state. You might snap at someone who tries to talk to you, which would be acting out of character and against your trait.
I’m diving deeper into this psychological theory on my youtube channel this week and bringing it back to how you might be experiencing this in your own relationships.
